HANOI, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in a traffic accident in southern Vietnam's Vinh Long province on Saturday night, local media Thanh Nien reported Sunday.
The accident occurred at around 10 p.m., when a car crashed into a motorcycle that was stopped at a red light, leaving one motorbike rider dead at the scene, while another victim later died at the hospital despite emergency treatment, the report said.
Both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision, the report added.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. ■
