SYDNEY, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Australian customers were on Thursday morning affected by a Vodafone service outage after its mobile network crashed.
Vodafone Australia said in a statement to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that customers could be experiencing intermittent service issues.
Vodafone is Australia's third-largest mobile network operator, with its network used by 5.4 million people as of February 2025, according to the ABC.
Under laws passed by the federal parliament in 2025, telecommunications companies can face fines of up to 30 million Australian dollars (21.1 million U.S. dollars) for network outages that affect calls to emergency services. ■
