VIENTIANE, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Laos seeks to enhance the effectiveness of rural development and poverty alleviation efforts nationwide by advancing a comprehensive national agenda focused on coordinated implementation and sustainable outcomes.
The Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on Tuesday convened a research and consultation meeting in Vientiane province to advance the preparation of the draft National Agenda for Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation, the local news website Lao Phattana News reported on Wednesday.
The meeting aimed to gather technical-level input and strengthen coordination among relevant sectors in developing the draft agenda. Discussions focused on identifying common directions, targets, priority tasks, and detailed measures to enhance the effectiveness of rural development and poverty alleviation efforts.
Participants reviewed the draft agenda to ensure it aligns with sectoral priorities and reflects comprehensive and accurate policy measures. The consultation also sought to strengthen coordination among stakeholders to support its effective implementation.
The meeting also aimed to finalize the draft of the national agenda ahead of its submission to the National Assembly for consideration and approval. ■
