YANGON, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported 39,089 tons of fishery products in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2026-2027 (April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027), earning over 70 million U.S. dollars, according to the Department of Fisheries on Tuesday.
The export volume declined compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, when the country exported over 63,000 tons of fishery products and earned over 87 million dollars, an official from the department told Xinhua.
Myanmar exports fishery products to about 40 countries, with the majority going to China and Thailand, as well as the Middle East and European Union countries, the official said.
In the previous fiscal year 2025-2026, Myanmar exported over 463,000 tons of fishery products. ■
