ISLAMABAD, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud welcomed the final stage of the U.S.-Iran negotiations, with the electronic signing ceremony of a deal scheduled for Sunday, Pakistan's foreign ministry said on Saturday.
During a telephone conversation, the two ministers discussed the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, voicing hope that the process would lead to lasting peace and stability in the region, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Saudi foreign minister appreciated Pakistan's consistent and sustained efforts in support of mediation and dialogue throughout the negotiation process.
The two sides also discussed preparations for the forthcoming Regional Four Foreign Ministers meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Egypt later this month.
Pakistan has been actively supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and reducing tensions in the region. ■
