KABUL, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed as a trucker struck a motorbike in northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province on Thursday, spokesman for the provincial police office Mawlawi Shir Ahmad Burhani said Friday.
Blaming reckless driving for the deadly mishap, the official added that all the victims were riding a motorbike when they collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in Doshi district yesterday afternoon.
This is the second incident of its kind in Baghlan province over the past couple of days, as a similar mishap left nine travelers injured outside Baghlan's provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri, on Wednesday.
Reckless driving on congested roads, overlooking traffic rules, overspeeding and the use of old-fashioned vehicles, according to Afghans, often led to deadly road accidents in the country. ■
