YANGON, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The World Robot Contest Myanmar Championship 2026 was held in Yangon on Sunday, bringing together young robotics talents from across Myanmar.
Tin Aung Win, founder of Titan EDU, an education and robotics coding center in Myanmar that organized the event, said this year marks the third edition of the competition in the country.
The World Robot Contest is held in different countries at various times of the year. In 2025, Myanmar teams competed in China, Malaysia and Thailand, where they won championship titles, he said, adding that the event will also honor teams that achieved championship titles at international World Robot Contest events.
Participation has increased this year compared to previous editions. More than 200 contestants from over 100 teams nationwide are taking part in the championship, who aged between 7 and 16, he said. ■
