KATHMANDU, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The Nepali government on Friday unveiled an ambitious budget of 2.12 trillion Nepali rupees for the upcoming 2026-27 fiscal year.

Minister of Finance Swarnim Wagle presented the budget in the federal parliament for discussion before endorsement. Of the total, 1.27 trillion rupees is allocated for recurrent expenditure, 431.1 billion rupees for capital expenditure, and 422.64 billion rupees for financing.

For the total budget, the government aims to generate 1.40 trillion rupees in revenue, receive foreign grants worth 61.74 billion rupees, undertake external borrowing of 247.28 billion rupees, and undertake internal borrowing of 245.89 billion rupees. (1 Nepali rupee equals 0.0066 U.S. dollar)
