KABUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Six travelers died and three others sustained injuries due to a head-on collision in Kandahar province, south of Afghanistan, on Friday evening, spokesman for the provincial police office Assadullah Jamshid said Saturday.
The deadly mishap occurred in Daman district yesterday evening as a car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving six dead at the scene and three more injured, the official said, adding that traffic police shifted all the injured commuters to the nearby health center.
A similar accident claimed one life and injured five others in the eastern Laghman province on Friday morning. ■
