NEW DELHI, May 22 (Xinhua) -- At least five people died in India's northern hilly state of Uttarakhand when the car they were traveling in fell into a 60-meter deep gorge, local police confirmed on Thursday.
The accident happened in Bhawali Bypass area of the state's Nainital district.
There were five people in the ill-fated car. They were said to be local tourists.
Rescue teams faced immense difficulty in bringing out the dead bodies from the spot of the accident in a difficult and hilly terrain. ■
