ALMATY, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's annual plan for budget revenues was fulfilled by 98.6 percent in 2025, falling short by 337 billion tenge (716 million U.S. dollars), the Kazinform news agency reported on Thursday.

The shortfall was mainly linked to tax revenues missing the target by 730 billion tenge, largely due to lower-than-expected collections from corporate income tax and value-added tax, Deputy Minister of Finance Dauren Temirbekov said.

Temirbekov also pointed to a 2.4 percent decline in exports to third countries, a 5.3 percent drop in lead prices, and a 17 percent increase in benefits on customs duties and taxes as key factors behind the revenue shortfall. (1 Kazakh tenge = 0.002125 U.S. dollar)
