HANOI, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government has approved a national project for training, capacity building and human resource development in the atomic energy sector, local newspaper Dan Viet reported on Thursday.

By 2030, Vietnam aims to provide professional training and capacity-building support for 100 percent of state management personnel working in the atomic energy sector at both central and local levels.

The initiative is designed to ensure such personnel are fully competent to perform state management duties concerning radiation safety, nuclear safety, nuclear security and the application of atomic energy technologies.

The project also targets fostering a core team of highly qualified research and development professionals capable of absorbing, mastering, transferring and innovating atomic energy technologies, the report noted.
