MANILA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- A light aircraft crashed in the mountainous province of Benguet in northern Philippines on Wednesday morning, local media reported.
The plane went down near Mt. Sto. Tomas in the municipality of Tuba. Two people were on board, and rescue teams have located the wreckage, according to Lt. Col. Roy Calulot, information officer of the Police Regional Office.
Rescuers from the local police, fire bureau and disaster risk reduction office are conducting search, rescue and retrieval operations. The cause of the crash is under investigation. ■
