ALMATY, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The cumulative growth of wages in Kazakhstan has reached 41 percent since 2017, driven by the country's GDP growth, Kazinform news agency reported Monday.

Average monthly nominal wage in Kazakhstan amounted to 461,486 tenge (about 987 U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2026, according to the country's Bureau of National Statistics.

Kazakhstan's annual real GDP growth surpassed 5 percent each year, exceeding the global average by more than 50 percent. Since early 2017, Kazakhstan's real GDP has expanded by 39 percent, outpacing the global real GDP growth level of 30 percent, said Vice Minister of National Economy Arman Kassenov.

The Kazakh government aims to maintain annual growth rates of 5-6 percent in the coming years and increase GDP to 450 billion dollars by 2029, Kassenov added.
