DHAKA, May 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 563 people were killed and 1,279 others injured in accidents on roads, railways and waterways in Bangladesh in April, said a report published here Wednesday.
According to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, a passenger welfare association, 510 people were killed and 1,268 were injured in road accidents throughout the month.
It said 49 people were killed and 11 were injured in railway-related accidents in April, while four died in waterway accidents in the month. ■
