KABUL, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Construction work on 15 water supply networks has been completed and officially put into operation in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar Province, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported Thursday.
Implemented at a total cost of 54 million afghanis (about 843,000 U.S. dollars), the projects will provide access to clean drinking water for nearly 7,600 families and 4,500 students across the province, the report said.
Local officials said the newly completed networks are expected to improve access to safe drinking water, enhance public health conditions, and help address basic service needs in the targeted communities. ■
