ALMATY, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into the country's secondary education system, tasking the government with approving a plan for 2026-2029 by July 1, Kazinform news agency reported Wednesday, citing the presidential press service.
The plan will include the development of personalized learning mechanisms, digital infrastructure, teacher training and student data protection measures, as well as a pilot project aimed at narrowing the education gap between urban and rural schools, the press service said in a statement.
Participating schools are expected to receive the necessary technical equipment and stable high-speed internet access by Aug. 1, while official AI standards for secondary education are to be approved by Sept. 1, it added.
The measures are expected to help ensure the country's sustainable development amid rapid AI growth by creating conditions for building a modern and innovative education system as a key component of human capital development. ■
