YANGON, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Three people drowned on Sunday in a creek in eastern Myanmar's Kayah state, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
The incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. local time in Loikaw township, the department said.
Local fire service personnel conducted search and rescue operations after receiving reports of the drowning, it said.
The deceased were two males and one female, it said, adding that the bodies were later transported to Loikaw General Hospital.
An official from the Shwenyaungbin rescue organization, which assisted in transporting the bodies, said the deceased were between 18 and 20 years old. ■
