HANOI, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's aquatic product exports reached 3.59 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of this year, up 11.9 percent year on year, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.

China, Japan and the United States were the three largest markets for Vietnamese aquatic products, accounting for 26.7 percent, 13.8 percent and 13 percent of the total, respectively.

In April alone, the Southeast Asian country exported aquatic products worth 947.8 million dollars, the report said.

Nguyen Hoai Nam, general secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, said that if Vietnam sustains its growth momentum and addresses current challenges, its aquatic product exports in 2026 could increase by about 1 billion dollars from the approximately 11.3 billion dollars recorded in 2025.
