TASHKENT, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said Monday that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is of particular importance given the current challenges in international logistics.
The project is expected to reduce cargo delivery time by up to 10 days and significantly boost the transit potential of the Central Asia region, the president said at the opening ceremony of the 59th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank in Samarkand, Uzbekistan's second-largest city.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that the project will serve as a vital link in the development of regional logistical connectivity and will further strengthen trade and economic ties between participating nations.
Furthermore, he proposed the establishment of a "Digital Customs and Logistics Alliance," aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, digitizing documentation flows, and accelerating the pace of cross-border freight transportation. ■
