ALMATY, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's annual inflation continued to decline to 10.6 percent in April, down from 11 percent in March, the country's Bureau of National Statistics reported on Monday.
The reduction came following a decrease of 0.7 percentage points in March from the previous month.
The slowdown was mainly driven by lower price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which contributed 4.5 percent to annual inflation, followed by transport with 1.1 percent and personal care, social protection, and other goods and services with 1 percent.
Monthly inflation in April stood at 0.8 percent, up from 0.6 percent in March, the report said.
On an annual basis, prices for food products rose by 11.3 percent, non-food goods by 11.7 percent, and paid services by 8.9 percent, according to the data. ■
