JAKARTA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a 13.55 percent year-on-year increase in Chinese tourist arrivals in March 2026, with the number reaching 95,945, compared with 84,497 in the same month last year, Statistics Indonesia, or BPS, announced on Monday.
Ateng Hartono, BPS deputy for distribution and services statistics, said Chinese tourist arrivals fell from 150,822 in February, when the Chinese New Year holiday boosted outbound travel from China.
Total foreign tourist arrivals reached 1.09 million in March, bringing the cumulative number in the first quarter of 2026 to 3.44 million, up 8.62 percent year-on-year, BPS said. ■
