KABUL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- More than 120 million U.S. dollars have been invested in the battery production sector in Afghanistan, the official Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) has reported.
Citing Abdul Matin Qalandari, the head of the Chamber of Industry and Mines, RTA reported Friday that over 80 percent of battery demand is met by domestic production.
Currently, 11 battery production plants are operational in Afghanistan.
As part of its efforts to support local products and private sectors, the Afghan government welcomes national and international investments to rebuild the war-torn nation. ■
