India's forex reserves rise to 703.3 bln USD

NEW DELHI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves increased by 2.362 billion U.S. dollars to 703.308 billion dollars during the week ended April 17, showed the weekly bulletin released by the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on Friday.

This was the third consecutive week when India's forex reserves had risen. In the preceding week, they rose by over 3.8 billion dollars.

According to the RBI data, forex reserves' major component, the Foreign Currency Assets (FCAs), increased by 1.481 billion dollars to 557.463 billion dollars, while the Gold Reserves increased by 790 million dollars to 122.133 billion dollars.
