SYDNEY, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Passengers at Perth Airport Terminal 1 in Western Australia were experiencing disruptions on Wednesday as police investigated a reported unattended bag at the terminal.
The Australian Federal Police urged the public to "avoid the area and await further advice."
A spokesperson for the airport said in a statement that an exclusion zone was set up.
"An unattended item is currently being investigated by the Australian Federal Police and Western Australia Police at Perth Airport," the statement said.
"As a precaution, an exclusion zone has been established in the area," it said.
Crowds could be seen gathering outside the terminal entrance, according to media reports.
Passengers were also advised to check the Perth Airport website for updates. ■
