HANOI, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is expected to mobilize about 38.2 billion U.S. dollars in official development assistance (ODA) and foreign concessional loans during the 2026-2030 period, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday, citing the Ministry of Finance.
Nguyen Quoc Phuong, director of the ministry's Department of Debt Management and External Economic Relations, said demand for ODA and concessional financing remains high over the next five years, particularly for strategic infrastructure, digital transformation, innovation, climate change adaptation, green growth, workforce development and social security.
Priority will be given to key projects with strong spillover effects and transformative impact, especially in socio-economic infrastructure, environmental protection, climate change response, science and technology, innovation, green transition and digital transformation, according to the report.
During the 2021-2025 period, Vietnam secured between 800 million dollars and 1 billion dollars annually in ODA and concessional loans, according to the government portal. ■
