BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The energy sector in Brunei continues to play a crucial role in the country's economic development, a senior Brunei government official said on Monday.
Speaking at a renewable energy townhall session held in the oil-rich Belait District, Hajah Farida Haji Talib, permanent secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the nation's commitment to strengthening energy efficiency and expanding renewable energy adoption such as solar energy.
She said that at the national level, Brunei has established a clear framework to enhance energy efficiency and promote renewable energy across all core sectors, in line with its commitments under national climate change policy initiatives. ■
