KABUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Construction work has officially begun on a health clinic in northern Afghanistan's Faryab province with an estimated cost of nearly two million U.S. dollars, the official media Bakhtar news agency reported on Friday.

According to the report, the project is expected to be completed within two years and aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for residents in the area.

In a separate development, construction work has also started on a road project in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, at a cost of over 20 million afghanis, the report added.

Officials said the road development is expected to improve transportation conditions and facilitate smoother movement in the area, contributing to local economic activity.
