ALMATY, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's GDP grew 3 percent in the first quarter of 2026, driven primarily by growth in the non-resource sector, the Kazinform news agency reported Tuesday.
Manufacturing expanded by 8.5 percent, transport services by 12.8 percent, and construction by 14.8 percent, said the report, citing data from the Ministry of National Economy.
Growth in the service sector reached 3.7 percent, while the real sector saw a rise of 2.1 percent, it said. Trade turnover jumped 11.3 percent in January and February to 21.7 billion U.S. dollars.
The government projected an economic growth of over 5 percent for this year. ■
