NEW DELHI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people were killed and 25 others injured Saturday in a collision between a bus and a pickup van in the eastern Indian state of Bihar, police said.
The accident took place near Gerabari of Katihar district, about 279 km east of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.
Police have registered a case and ordered an investigation into the accident.
Nitin Gadkari, federal minister of road transport and highways, said recently that India records nearly half a million road accidents and 180,000 related fatalities annually. ■
