YANGON, April 12 (Xinhua) -- A total of nine people were killed and at least 18 others were injured after two passenger minibuses overturned in separate accidents in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, a local police officer told Xinhua on Sunday.
In Kutkai township, a passenger minibus overturned due to brake failure. Five people were killed, and over 10 others were injured, he said.
In a similar incident in Lashio township, another passenger minibus overturned after the driver lost control, killing four people and injuring eight others, the officer added.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment, he said. ■
