KABUL, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Police have thwarted attempts to smuggle drone cameras, foreign currency and 169 kg of silver in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, a spokesman of the army in the region Mullah Gulbudin Alyas said Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, personnel of security forces raided an area in Spin Boldak district early in the morning and seized a huge quantity of foreign currency, 169 kg of silver, and three drone cameras from a group of smugglers, the official said.
The official did not provide further details, saying the security forces deployed along the borders will spare no effort to check any illegal activities. ■
