SYDNEY, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Police are investigating after two western Sydney homes were targeted in separate drive-by shootings on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were initially called to reports of gunshots in Colyton, 40 km west of central Sydney, around 9:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
Police officers arrived and were told that shots had been fired into a home from a passing vehicle, which subsequently left the scene. One person was inside the home at the time, but no injuries were reported.
A short time later, at 11 p.m., police were called to a second report of gunfire in Panania, 20 km southwest of central Sydney.
Officers were told at the scene that shots had again been fired into a home from a vehicle.
Three people were inside the Panania residence at the time of the shooting and no injuries were reported.
Police established crime scenes at both locations and commenced investigations into the shootings. ■
