S. Korea's KOSPI closes up 6.87 pct on U.S.-Iran two-week ceasefire

SEOUL, April 8 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's benchmark KOSPI surged 6.87 percent to close Wednesday following news of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, while the local currency fell to 1,470.6 won against the U.S. dollar, local broadcaster YTN reported.
