TASHKENT, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan produced about 23.32 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first quarter of 2026, up 7 percent year on year, the country's Ministry of Energy reported Monday.
The output for January-March rose by 1.47 billion kilowatt-hours from the same period in 2025.
The ministry attributed the rise to systematic efforts to modernize infrastructure facilities and commission new generating capacities.
Uzbekistan has been actively upgrading its energy sector to meet growing domestic demands while ensuring reliable power distribution throughout the country. ■
