ISLAMABAD, April 5 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and 14 others injured after a liquefied petroleum gas cylinder exploded in a passenger rickshaw in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province on Sunday, rescue officials said.
The incident took place in the Multan district, where the cylinder installed in the vehicle caught fire following the blast, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said.
All victims belonged to the same family and were traveling from Muzaffargarh to Multan at the time of the accident.
Rescue teams shifted the injured to hospitals, where three later died, while 14 others remain under treatment at Nishtar Hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. ■
