MANILA, March 27 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine National Oil Company Exploration Corporation (PNOC-EC) has processed and secured diesel delivery of a total of 165.68 million liters, or about 1.04 million barrels, to support the country's fuel requirements, said the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) on Friday.

According to the DOE, the first batch of shipments of 22.58 million liters arrived on March 26. The remaining shipments are expected to be delivered in the coming weeks of April.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to ensure oil supply amid uncertainties in the global energy market, the DOE said.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said Friday that the Philippines is coordinating with countries that are less dependent on Middle Eastern oil, such as India, Argentina and Canada, to ensure a steady supply of fuel.

Amid the Middle East conflict, the Philippines has declared a state of national energy emergency since Tuesday.
