NEW DELHI, March 26 (Xinhua) -- India's federal ministry of petroleum and natural gas said Thursday that the petroleum and LPG supply situation in the country was fully secure and under control amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
The ministry said in a statement that currently it has around 60 days of crude oil and fuel stock cover, along with 800,000 tonnes of secured LPG supplies.
"Next two months of crude procurement have also been secured. India is completely secure for next many months," it added.
The ministry said that every Indian refinery is running at over 100 percent utilization.
It further said there was no shortage of LPG across the country. The domestic refinery production has been ramped up by 40 percent, bringing daily LPG output to 50 Thousand Metric Tonnes (TMT), which is more than 60 percent of the country's requirement against a total daily requirement of around 80 TMT. ■
