BANGKOK, March 25 (Xinhua) -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced the official opening of the 44th edition of the Thailand Tourism Festival on Wednesday, showcasing Thailand's cultural and travel diversity.
The festival was organized into nine unique zones featuring five regional village zones representing the north, northeast, central, east and south, as well as four zones focusing on innovation, partnerships, and sustainability, to create a journey across the country that blends culture, cuisine and entertainment, encouraging visitors to explore further beyond the event.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said that the annual festival brought together the essence of Thai travel in one national showcase, adding that the nine main zones directly support regional development and create new opportunities for local Thai communities, while promoting the country's diverse regions and their unique attractions.
As the country's flagship tourism platform, the five-day festival has been designed to turn discovery into real travel inspiration, presenting a distinct perspective on Thailand's destinations, identities and tourism experiences, according to the TAT. ■
