VIENTIANE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has convened a national consultation to discuss priority programs aimed at reducing smog pollution caused by agricultural activities.

According to the ministry's report on Wednesday, the second national consultation with stakeholders on the development of a national investment framework for haze-free sustainable land management was held on Tuesday in the Lao capital Vientiane.

The consultation focused on confirming key information and discussing priority projects and programs to tackle haze pollution caused by agricultural production. The investment policy framework for haze reduction is set to be approved by the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

This second consultation builds on the outcomes of the first national meeting held in December 2025 and forms part of the ongoing effort to develop a national investment framework for haze-free sustainable land management in Laos, aligned with the ASEAN investment framework for haze-free sustainable land management.
