SYDNEY, March 16 (Xinhua) -- A man has died after he was shot at a residence in western Sydney, Australia, on Monday.
Police said in a statement that emergency services were called to the unit in Lidcombe, 14 km west of central Sydney, following reports of a shooting shortly after 4 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a 38-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
A second man was found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries suffered during an assault and was also hospitalized.
Police established a crime scene at the residence and have called for members of the public with information about the shooting to contact investigators. ■
