WELLINGTON, March 4 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's exports rose by 2.2 billion NZ dollars (1.3 billion U.S. dollars) in the December 2025 quarter, driven by strong performances in dairy, meat and tourism sectors, its top trade official said Wednesday.

Total exports reached 29.2 billion NZ dollars (17.23 billion U.S. dollars) for the December quarter, and two-way trade climbed to 61.2 billion NZ dollars (36.12 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, Stats NZ reported.

Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay underscored the importance of trade to the economy, on which one in four jobs depends.

Among top export earners, dairy rose 10 percent, tourism 9.4 percent and meat 21.4 percent for the December quarter, compared with the same period last year, according to the statistics department.
