COLOMBO, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka recorded 279,328 tourist arrivals in February 2026, marking the highest number of visitors received in a single calendar month, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
The February figure represents a 16.2 percent increase year on year, the authority said.
Daily data released in the weekly report show that Feb. 12 registered the highest single-day total of the month, with 12,731 tourists arriving in the country.
Of the top-ranking tourist sources, India remained Sri Lanka's largest inbound market in the month, or 17 percent of the total monthly figure. It is followed by Britain, Russia, Germany and China. ■
