ALMATY, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Crime in Kazakhstan fell 8 percent in January and February compared with the same period last year, seeing 1,300 fewer offenses, Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov said Tuesday.
Cybercrime declined 4 percent during the two-month period, he said.
As part of efforts to combat organized crime, 11 criminal groups were dismantled, according to the minister. Authorities also shut down five drug laboratories and seized 881.5 kg of various narcotics, Sadenov said. ■
