BANGKOK, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Thailand is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East with grave concern, according to a statement on Saturday issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We urge all the parties to prevent the conflict from further deterioration, thereby undermining international peace and security and affecting innocent civilians. Thailand reiterates the urgency of dialogue and diplomacy," the statement said.
Another statement issued the same day by the ministry said that Thai nationals without urgent business in the area are strongly advised to reconsider travel to the region at this time, given the current tense situation in the Middle East and the potential for an escalation and expansion of hostilities impacting civilians. ■
