BANGKOK, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Thailand recorded robust growth in its aviation sector during this year's Spring Festival holiday, with international passenger volume, flight movements, and cargo transport all surpassing pre-pandemic figures, official data showed on Friday.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, total passenger traffic during the Chinese New Year travel period from Feb. 13 to 22 reached 4,889,321, representing an increase of more than 170,000 travelers over the same period in 2019 and a clear year-on-year growth from last year.

In a statement, the authority said total flight movements rose to 28,340, outperforming both the pre-COVID-19 baseline and the previous year.

Air cargo volumes similarly saw continued expansion, reaching 42,280 tons, reflecting a stable recovery and expansion of the aviation sector, the statement added.
