BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) on Thursday launched the Brunei Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Festival 2026, Ramadan Edition, near the capital.
Scheduled to run from Feb. 26 to March 1, the four-day festival brings together more than 140 Bruneian businesses across 190 booths, representing key consumer-driven sectors including food and beverage, fashion, personal care, home and lifestyle, services, and emerging brands.
In her welcoming remarks, Norlela Suhailee, Director of Enterprise Development at BEDB, emphasized that the festival is designed to go beyond short-term commercial activity or a sales-driven event.
She said the Brunei MSME Festival is a strategic effort to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and cultivate long-term capabilities of Brunei's MSMEs, enabling them to innovate, enhance competitiveness, build strategic partnerships, and position themselves for wider market participation.
Since its inception in 2019, the Brunei MSME Festival has hosted over 800 exhibitors and attracted over 90,000 local and foreign visitors. ■
