ISLAMABAD, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- The bodies of two policemen who were abducted Wednesday night were found in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place in Bannu district, where armed militants stormed a mosque and kidnapped three brothers, including two serving police personnel.

Police confirmed that Constables Amjad and Hazratullah were later killed. The third abducted brother, a clerk at the Commissioner's Office in Bannu, remains missing.

Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan said the kidnappers were linked to a militant group and that a full-scale operation had been launched to trace them.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
