ISLAMABAD, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and five others injured in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province on Wednesday, rescue officials said.
The blast occurred in Sharaqpur Sharif town in the Sheikhupura district after a fire broke out during the preparation of fireworks, causing the building's roof to collapse, state-run Rescue 1122 said.
Emergency teams shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, the rescue service said.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident. ■
