KABUL, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health signed a cooperation agreement worth 10.3 million U.S. dollars with an international NGO on Monday to strengthen and expand essential healthcare services for residents of eastern Paktia province.
The 18-month agreement will support the delivery of basic and specialized healthcare through the Basic Package of Health Services centers across the province. It aims to improve access to quality care, address urgent health needs, and enhance overall service delivery in the region, according to an official statement from the ministry.
The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for 1,538 individuals while bolstering healthcare infrastructure and outreach in the province. ■
